Last week, the global fashion event, Fashion Forward, hit Dubai. The four day long affair gave upcoming Middle Eastern designers the opportunity to showcase their latest collections, whilst also acting as a prime networking opportunity for stylists, editors, bloggers and more. Despite being held over Eid, when most took the chance to getaway for a few days, the turnout was brilliant.
The quality and style of the designers was diverse, but of the same top standards. From floral to Geisha, there was a bit of something to suit everyone’s taste. I personally took the chance to attend two of the four days. There were a number of various talks held by professionals in the industry each morning of the event, one of which was by Jonathan Bookalil, an established fashion photographer based in New York – check him out here. He was actually the man behind the successful Accessorize campaigns that featured Naomi Campbell, Heidi Klum and so on – great work!
Two of the shows I watched and photographed were from designers ‘Endemage‘ and ‘Zayan the Label‘. I fell totally in love with Zayan’s designs which united floaty materials with floral pinks and sweet embellishments. One of my personal favourites was the long white dress, with a train edged in blush-pink flowers, seen below in photo #7.
It was a brilliant experience, which I felt offered something for everyone involved in the industry, whether simply interested in a fashion or a designer in need of new inspirations. Enjoy a few of my snaps below of the event 🙂
