PEGGY PORSCHEN CHRISTMAS
This festive time of year is about spending time with family, friends, loved ones, and of course, a bit of over-indulgence. I’m always on the hunt for sweet little stocking fillers to give out on Christmas day, since we’ll spend most of the time nibbling festive chocolates and sipping on bubbly. From gingerbread men, to sparkly cookie stars, I love it all. If you too are looking for some Christmassy bakes to pop into your stocking, look no further than the delightful Peggy Porschen café and bakery.
I discovered Peggy Porschen recently whilst shooting on the quaint Elizabeth Street, just outside Victoria Station. This gorgeous little gem is hard to miss, since it’s painted a beautiful candy pink and is usually filled with ladies of leisure having a good old gossip. Everything served and sold in the cafe has been baked by hand in their bakery. From cupcakes, to wedding cakes, they do everything and they do it beautifully!
I visited the bakery recently and had the chance to sneak behind the scenes and see where the magic happens (I’ll share more of that with you in another post coming very soon). The candy pink exterior doesn’t quite prepare you for all the cuteness you’ll find inside. I fell in love with their Christmas cookie collection, wishing I could take all of them home. They sell bags of meringue kisses, jam tarts, cupcakes, Christmas biscuits, cinnamon stars – anything you can imagine! I love places full of personality, which makes them different from the rest and ensures you enjoy the experience from start to finish. Catching up with friends over coffee in a christmassy, pink paradise… does it get any more perfect?
