Sweet Inn – Paris

Travel for some people means switching off, for some it means indulgence and for others it simply means discovery. Each trip and destination encourages you to take a different path but for me personally, when I’m visiting a new city my status is usually: discovery. I love finding ways to explore the place I’m in through the eyes of a local, from new restaurants to finding the best local hotspots. The cherry on the top, however, is when I have the chance to discover a new city from the comfort of local accommodation – staying where the locals live, living like the locals do – and the Sweet Inn gives you the opportunity to do just that.

Myself and bloggers Nathan and Belle & Bunty headed to Paris a few weeks ago with our discovery hats on. We wanted to seek out the less obvious spots of the city, such as the pastel street of Rue Cremieux and the quirky district of Le Marais. I came across the Sweet Inn concept and knew we had to try it out. With the idea of bringing a bit of London love to Paris we teamed up with the guys at the Sweet Inn and planned our stay.

Arriving in Paris, we had a short journey from Gare du Nord to our pad in Le Marais. It was located in the exact spot I had hope – I was told Le Marais was the Parisian version of London’s Shoreditch – young, quirky and a foodie’s paradise! Set just a stone’s throw from streets of fabulous restaurants and bars, the three bedroom apartment was exactly what we were hoping for. As most of us know, Paris is famous for its teeny-tiny abodes, but this wasn’t the case in our Sweet Inn abode. We each had a spacious double bedroom and a huge living room-kitchen area, perfect for nights in with cheese and wine. The apartment was full of character but beautifully modern at the same time. And since it was located in a building with local residents, each time we went back it felt like we were stepping into our very own Parisian pad.

What I like about the Sweet Inn concept, which sets itself apart from other accommodation experiences I’ve had, is how it brings hotel service and quality to a local level. You have the chance to rent an apartment and live like a city-goer would, but with the option of added-on comforts you would find in a hotel . If you’d like your apartment cleaning, new bed sheets, a transfer to the airport or your laundry doing – they’re all available at your fingertips, thanks to the dedicated Sweet Inn team ready to help in your city. They even have a centrally located office where you can use the internet for free, drop off your luggage before you travel and top up on refreshments. What more can you ask for?
//
If you, too, love experiencing cities like a local, definitely check out the Sweet Inn – you won’t be disappointed! At present they have apartments in Rome, Paris, Tel Aviv, Brussels, Barcelona and Lisbon, but are continuing to expand. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to get to know a new side of Paris so a big thanks goes to the Sweet Inn team in Paris for having us!
