2016 has been an interesting year so far. From travel blogging trips, to fashion photography shoots, I’ve had so many incredible projects come my way. One of the best parts of my job is having the chance to work with brands I respect and look up to, ones who inspire me. As a photographer, I have so many creative ideas, so when I have chance to bring them to life it’s a personal goal achieved. I’ve actually always wanted to shoot a summer festival piece and little did I know that I would have the chance to shoot such a story for one of the biggest beauty names in the industry, L’Oreal.
I am personally a huge fan of L’Oreal’s mascaras and have actually used them since I was a teen (no joke, they are actually so good!). Knowing how gorgeous they make my lashes, I was very excited to be on board to photograph a piece for their latest mascara, Miss Hippie. The project was for a blog post for fashion blogger, Danielle Peazer, and with a relatively blank canvas, we shot this piece on a hot summer’s day in London.
Colourful, bright and fun were the words that came to mind. I’ve been trying to push myself creatively and really think about storylines, locations and include as many props as possible. For this shoot we had feathers (which kept flying everywhere lol!), daisies, bunting, bouquets and lots of sunshine. It was actually amazing because every day up until the shoot it had been torrential rain but miraculously the evening we ended up shooting the sun came out to play… crazy how things can work out sometimes. I can also tell you that in the middle of the city, creating summery, fun, festival-inspired images aren’t always easy, but with a little bit of imagination it’s amazing what you can do…
I’m so grateful to have had this photography opportunity and am already looking forward to some new and exciting projects coming up very soon… Really hope you like the snaps!
